Thursday, December 26th  // Teens - 9:30-12:00 In Graphic Novel Illustration, students will experiment with the pen and ink medium while exploring the concept of creating a short narrative. Students will create a cover page for a fictional story inspired by the style of Scott McCloud, a professional comic author. Some of McCloud's titles include Understanding Comics, Making Comics, and Reinventing Comics.

Thursday, January 2 // Kids Grades K-2 | 12:30p-3:00p  Design your own winter monster with scales, horns, claws, wings, and more! Students will use their imaginations to dream up their monsters and backstories. They will then sculpt their unique monsters using clay and various sculpting tools and methods.

Thursday, January 2nd  // Teens | 12:30p-3:00p  In Learn to Draw Realistically: The Face, students will learn the foundations of drawing and become familiar with the graphite medium. Students will focus on facial proportions and learn how to render the human eye, nose, and mouth naturalistically.

Friday, January 3rd  // Teens | 12:30a-3:00p  The highly stylized characteristics and engaging storylines of manga comics have become a cultural phenomenon worldwide. In this workshop, students will create their own manga character with skills and techniques focused on color application and linework.

Friday, January 3rd  // Grades 3-5 | 9:30a-12:00p  Students will explore coloring and shading in Photoshop to create a robot character with Color. Skills and techniques will focus primarily on layering base colors with clipping masks to add shadows and highlights.

Friday, January 3rd // Teens - 12:30-3:00  Through digital compositing, students will create their own unique version of a Chimera: a creature comprised of various other animals. Skills and techniques will focus on various photo manipulation tools such as the content-aware move tool, masking, and gradient effects.
