Arctic Felt Creatures

This introduction to fiber arts will teach students about utilizing felt as an artistic medium to construct their own stuffed arctic creature. Students can choose to create whimsical creatures such as a yeti or an arctic animal. These creative keepsakes can be easily strung as an ornament or kept as an artistic 3D object for years to come.

Students will develop foundational skills in portraiture; they will learn how to draw a portrait in profile using the graphite medium. Students will learn how to realistically draw the eye, nose, and mouth from the side and in proportion.

Students will learn about contemporary illustrators and create their own themed coloring book. Utilizing Adobe Photoshop, they will learn the basics of digital illustration while creating a conceptual theme.
